We are excited to share that during the past months, the Greenworlder team has welcomed a whole heap of new talent to support on the development of the platform.  

In April, Irene Mäkelä-Brunnekreef joined the company as the Chief Marketing Officer, taking over the leadership of the brand and marketing and a role in the management team. In addition, she will have an active role working with various partnerships. Over the years, Irene has worked with strategic marketing, branding and product launches across Europe, with a focus on innovations, international expansion projects, and strategic partnerships. 

In June, Jannika Salminen joined Greenworlder as a Marketing Manager with a focus on Greenworlder’s presence and brand in digital and traditional media as well as in building the community and content on the Greenworlder platform. Jannika has over 10 years of experience in social media, strategic brand management and marketing, and a strong academic background in sustainable business.  

Another new addition to the team in June was Jessica Meldon who joined the team as a Web Designer with a responsibility over the brand identity and design of Greenworlder. Jessica is an experienced designer with skills in both web and graphic design, as well as drawing and illustrating. You can enjoy the results of her amazing creative skills throughout the upcoming app and the website. 

In August, the team got strengthened again when Rene Botvin joined in as the Head of Finance. Rene works as a freelance startup CFO and dedicates two days a week of his time to Greenworlder, working with financial planning and strategy in close in collaboration with the management team.  

In September, Daniel Klemetz joined as the Head of Strategy & Partnerships. Daniel is in charge of developing relevant partnerships and works as part of the management team to drive long-term strategy of the company. He has a broad experience in strategy, procurement, and governance from both large international corporations as well as from startups. 

Similarly in September, Gabriela Gazola joined the team as a Partnership Manager with a focus on partnerships with global NGOs and a supporting role in various marketing activities. In the past, Gabriela has worked with multiple related organisations such as WWF, Unicef, and Make-A-Wish Foundation.  

For the partnership and business development team, Christian Kläs has joined to support our mission as an external Business Development Advisor in September. 

To finish off the busy September in terms of recruiting, Azin Shadmand joined Greenworlder as a Marketing & Content Assistant. Azin works with Greenworlder’s digital content, design, and other marketing activities, joining the team after graduating with a degree in marketing. 

We warmly welcome all the new (and not anymore so new) team members and keep steering together towards the upcoming launch! 

With the new members joining the team, the Greenworlder team of 18 people now consists of 16 different nationalities and over 20 languages spoken, with the youngest team member being 24 years of age and the oldest 64. We quite literally embrace diversity and are proud of such a versatile team rich in experience and knowledge.
